Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Prototype Leader to oversee the design, development, and testing of prototypes in our manufacturing division. The ideal candidate will lead a team of engineers and technicians to ensure that prototypes meet specified requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.Key Responsibilities
- Lead the prototype development process from concept through testing and validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and production to define project requirements and objectives.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of prototypes.
- Conduct detailed analyses and evaluations of prototypes to identify technical challenges and implement solutions.
- Develop and maintain prototype specifications, documentation, and testing protocols.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the prototype development process.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Present project updates and findings to stakeholders and integrate feedback into further development cycles.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in prototype manufacturing technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- [5+] years of experience in prototype development or related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in leading teams and managing projects.
- Strong understanding of prototyping techniques, materials, and manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, 3D printing, etc.).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant technical tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Agile project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with quality assurance practices and lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to manufacturing.
