Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the prototype development process from concept through testing and validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and production to define project requirements and objectives.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of prototypes.
• Conduct detailed analyses and evaluations of prototypes to identify technical challenges and implement solutions.
• Develop and maintain prototype specifications, documentation, and testing protocols.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the prototype development process.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Present project updates and findings to stakeholders and integrate feedback into further development cycles.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in prototype manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• [5+] years of experience in prototype development or related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in leading teams and managing projects.
• Strong understanding of prototyping techniques, materials, and manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, 3D printing, etc.).
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant technical tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Agile project management methodologies.
• Familiarity with quality assurance practices and lean manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to manufacturing.
