Key Responsibilities
Automation Strategy & Execution
- Define and lead the end-to-end QA automation roadmap.
- Select and scale modern test frameworks for mobile, web, API, and microservices.
- Embed automated testing in CI/CD pipelines (AWS Pipeline, Jenkins).
- Drive test data strategy and environment readiness for automated runs.
Shift-Left & Continuous Testing
- Advocate for quality engineering from design to production.
- Introduce shift-left testing and coach and driving feature teams on writing reliable integration tests, component test and API and E2E Test.
- Collaborate with DevOps(Pipeline) Team to enable parallel test execution and fast feedback loops.
Quality Metrics & Insights
- Establish test coverage, pass rate, defect leakage KPIs, and trend dashboards.
- Provide actionable insights using tools like XRAY, TestRail, or custom dashboards.
- Review failures to root-cause issues and close quality gaps upstream.
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Lead and coaching a growing automation QA team across Portfolio.
- Pair testing sessions, and QA guilds with engineering team and QA Team to uplift skills and practices.
- Provide clear direction, feedback, and career guidance for QA Team.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Security to align on quality objectives.
- Ensure automation efforts scale across portfolio and platforms (iOS, Android, Web, Backend..).
- Lead initiatives that improve release confidence, cycle time, and regression resilience.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- 5+ years in test automation with 2+ years in a lead role.
- Solid coding skills in JavaScript, Java, Python, or similar for writing test scripts.
- Experience with frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Appium, or REST Assured.
- Familiar with BDD/TDD, service virtualization, and mocking/stubbing tools.
- Exposure to Microservices, Event-driven architecture, and Serverless functions.
Mindset & Experience
- Strong advocate of test automation as a product enabler, not a QA function.
- Experience in high-regulation environments (banking, fintech, payments preferred).
- Proven ability to lead through influence, clarity, and accountability.
Soft Skills
- Passionate communicator, motivator, and hands-on leader.
- Comfortable challenging the status quo and introducing best practices.
- Curious, analytical, and always optimizing the test strategy for better coverage and speed.
