The R&D Manager is responsible for leading product development strategies to:
- Diversify and enhance product lines in plastics, metals, and mold-making.
- Meet high technical standards for electronic housings, automotive components, fire safety equipment, filtration devices, and medical devices.
- Strengthen global competitiveness and ensure compliance with international quality and export standards.
R&D Strategy and Project Execution
- Develop and implement R&D plans for new product lines and continuous improvements focused on quality enhancement and cost reduction.
- Lead the design, testing, and validation of plastic housings (TVs, PCs, refrigerators), display units, filtration equipment, and accessories.
- Oversee mold development for plastic and metal parts, including EDM and CNC machined components.
- Research and apply advanced materials, molding methods, surface treatments, and coating technologies suitable for electronic and automotive products.
- Prepare and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering drawings throughout product lifecycle.
- Register and control technical drawings, including version history and engineering changes.
- Coordinate customer approvals for drawings, materials, and prototype validations.
- Manage R&D project schedules and ensure compliance with Vietnamese standards, ISO certifications, and specific customer (FDI) requirements.
- Work closely with Production, CNC Machining, Design, and Sales teams to ensure feasibility, quality, and commercial success.
- Communicate directly with international clients and suppliers (Korea, China, Japan, etc.) for design optimization, cost control, and material selection.
- Recruit, train, and develop R&D engineers with expertise in mold design and precision machining (EDM, CNC, alloys).
- Build and lead a high-performing, innovative team to support company growth.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Casting Technology, Mold Design, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in R&D within plastic/metal manufacturing; at least 2 years in a managerial or team-leading position.
- Solid experience in plastic housing development, mold design, and precision machining (EDM, CNC) is a strong plus.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and simulation tools for mold flow and spray coating.
- Strong project leadership, cross-department collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
- Good command of English and/or Korean.
- In-depth understanding of technical standards in electronics, automotive, medical, and fire safety industries.
