SCOPES OF WORK: 

  • To be fully responsible for R&D Function of the company, including: 
    • Build and direct R&D strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, Head of sales and department heads  
    • Be the key R&D partner to the Brand Development and Supply Chain Leadership teams. 
    • Study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth. 
  • To jointly with Management team be responsible for the company operation (building strategy, supports & necessary operation) 
  • To be the representative of the company for the group, partners, shareholders for necessary updates/sharing (which has been discussed and agreed internally) 

MAIN DUTIES: 

  • Basic Function: CRDO is accountable for the development of innovation strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, including the definition, prioritization and execution of the agreed R&D program to the business such as innovation/renovation, Supply Chain (technology support, savings, complexity reduction, supply security), Quality and business support – aligned with the business and brand strategies. 
  • Strategy (fully responsible for R&D Department & jointly responsible for the company): Building long term strategy to sustain our leadership position in desired markets 
    • Understanding business context & leading the Functional strategy development, build operation model and implementation plan (short term & long term). 
    • Taking a proactive role in the formulation of future strategic objectives and operation for own function. 
    • Also ensure: 
      • Strong strategic and annual planning processes are in place to produce effective plans. 
      • All R&D reporting requirements are met on a timely and regular basis. 
      • Reporting is always totally ‘transparent’ and on a ‘no surprises basis 
  • Planning 
    • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives 
    • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans 
    • Develop effective R&D strategies 
    • Manage the R&D processes 
    • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction 
  • Operations 
    • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team 
    • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team 
    • Define and deliver the various categories R&D short term roadmaps as well as the long-term plan aligned with category and business strategy; Champions within all key projects, the Holistic Product design principle, ensuring product superiority as defined by each category. 
    • Develop programs and implements recommendations for complexity reduction in materials and product/packaging backbones while at the same time ensuring maximum formulation/product flexibility 
    • Define/prioritize (together with Supply Chain) the R&D Supply Chain support projects as well as material efficiency savings programs that require R&D work: technical projects (new process, technologies implementation, capabilities improvement/ manufacturing relocation), quality improvement/protocols harmonization, supply security, sourcing etc. 
    • Define/prioritize (together with Supply Chain) the R&D quality agenda and ensures delivery of the quality action plan. 
    • Lead appropriate projects around new business/categories development e.g. technical due diligence on M&As, R&D consolidation or expansion thru M&A’s, new category white space projects and technologies etc 
    • Implement operational best practices 
    • Leader and develop R&D team to ensure on time in full (shortest time possible) delivery of new innovations to the market - in addition to fulfilling long term innovation commitments. 
    • Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package 
    • Develop capability teams through proactive management including training, coaching and career planning. 
  • Others tasks as per the request from CEO 

IMMEDIATE EXPECTATIONS: First presentation to CEO Director in 1-2 months after commencing date, including: 

  • A glance of the market, key economy indicators (history, current & future outlook), competitors. 
  • Build R&D strategy & implementation Plan, measuring by winning innovations 
  • Organizational effectiveness: 
    • Build a sustainable, efficient & agile organization model for R&D 
    • Attract, develop & retain key talents 
    • Thoroughly assess capabilities & provide solution to Improve/upgrade organization capabilities: 
      • Effectiveness & leadership of R&D team 
      • Efficiency of the R&D team

EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCES & PERSONALITY 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 15 years of working experience in a management in a similar role.  Proven track record of substantial experience, and deep industry knowledge.  
  • Significant leadership exposure to core areas of operations, sales and marketing, finance, human resources, information technology.  
  • Operations leadership experience and ability to manage overall operations issues 

Education:

  • ​​​​​​​At least a Bachelor's Degree and a MBA is ideal;
