- Advising, to international standards, clients as to matters of Vietnamese law on a broad range of issues relating to foreign direct investment (FDI), including the establishment of new investment projects, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) as well as project financing and development; General financing and project financing and development experience are an advantage;
- Drafting and reviewing contracts and other documents relevant to client matters;
- Pro-actively managing clients’ transactions and on-going legal requirements;
- Liaising with government officials at national and local level;
- Promoting business development activities for the Firm (for example, articles and seminars);
- The ability to play a leading role on transactions, including drafting and negotiating transaction documents;
- A willingness to work across practice groups and offices as the needs of the Vietnam practice requires;
- International post-graduate study or work experience will be considered favourably; and
- Additional duties as appropriate
- Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City bar admission
- Holding a Vietnamese Lawyer’s Certificate
- Between 6 and 10 years’ working experience as a legal advisor on FDI and M&A projects, at least 3 of which must have spent at an international or top tier Vietnamese law firm
- Excellent command of written and spoken legal English
