The Warehouse Manager/Leader will oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and effective management of inventory, personnel, and workflow. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing and will be responsible for optimizing warehouse functionality, adhering to safety standards, and leading a team to meet production and distribution goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations Management:
- Plan and coordinate all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of goods.
- Implement and monitor warehouse processes to ensure productivity and accuracy.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory levels, perform regular stock audits, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Optimize inventory storage to maximize space and improve retrieval efficiency.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff, including shift leaders, pickers, and stockers.
- Conduct performance evaluations and set goals for team members.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and establish best practices for safe warehouse operations.
- Conduct safety training and maintain clear records of safety incidents and resolutions.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Utilize warehouse management software (WMS) and other technology to streamline operations.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to align warehouse activities with overall manufacturing goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and transportation partners.
- Reporting & Analytics:
- Prepare reports on warehouse performance metrics, inventory levels, and operational efficiency.
- Use data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in warehouse or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
